She was the youngest of three children to Marcela and Abraham Quintanilla. Selena's professional career started at the age of eight old. She joined the father-led group. Selena was a part of her older siblings Abraham Junior who played playing the bass guitar, and sister Suzette played drums. Selena performed as the leading singer. Selena Y Los Dino is the name of the band and Selena performed along with her elder siblings at events like weddings and bars and various other locations. Selena Y Los Dino was a rather demanding group for Selena and her siblings. In the end, they did not get much of a chance to grow up.
